Absolutely fantastic book! My children love it…since the first time they read it, they have not stopped talking about it! Best part is that it has taught them all about the problems in the ocean and they want to help fix it!

Every school should have a copy and it should be required reading. Beautiful illustrations, a happy ending and educational but fun. My kids just love it.

Inspiring book for children to fill their hearts with joy and heads with wisdom so that they can teach us all a better way to care for this beautiful Planet. I see this being great for families or schools alike. Lovely balance between story and facts.

As an early childhood teacher there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a class of little faces completely engrossed in a story…Ellie’s book Duffy’s Lucky Escape does just that. The book provides just the right balance of education, concern and action for children to feel empowered and begin really important conversations about looking after our oceans. Thanks Ellie! Your book is a resource I will share with the children many many times to promote lifelong, positive attitudes towards caring for our environment.

I’ve just used your lovely book to stimulate some cross curricular writing with a Year 1 class.
The children were completely engaged and wrote some lovely persuasive letters to ‘everyone’ about the dangers of rubbish.

Launched in September 2017 and already loved by over 1 million children worldwide, Duffy’s Lucky Escape is the engaging story of the relationship between humans and wildlife and the dangers sea turtles face in their own natural habitats. Stunning artwork captures the imagination of young readers and brings to life a very real threat ocean plastics pose to our oceans. Duffy’s Lucky Escape is based on true events and it is this powerful message which invites children and adults alike to question their environment and the plastic pollution within it. With suggestions for the future and links to activities which reinforce the story, Duffy’s Lucky Escape is a book which will inspire young readers to make changes to the world around them. Duffy’s Lucky Escape and the other Wild Tribe Heroes books have so far received personal letters of congratulations from Sir David Attenborough and Prince Charles who are both extremely concerned about the issue of ocean plastics and are doing everything they can to help raise awareness.
